I started out as a watercolor artist, though I have dabbled in oils too. I've been working with pastels lately. I'm combining mixing many mediums to make my works more varied and interesting lately.

 

I was brought up in a family business in Upstate New York, an Italian restaurant and inn,  doing all the jobs those businesses required. In between and during those, I always taught in the humanities from the middle school level, straight through to the college level. My latest position was at an art college, I bonded with a wonderful painting teacher, who with her kind and gentle criticism and very available presence inspired me to keep learning....It's always the teachers that make us or break us, isn't it?

 

​With much of my career in the past, sharing my time between New York and Florida has given me time and new energy to lend to my art. I've exhibited in three shows in Florida recently. In New York my husband and I did an a combined art show with. my art and his photographs. The Orlando Science Center will host one of my impressionistic watercolors this summer highlighting the science of the hormones of grapevines.
